Graduation Ceremony 2012
Geneva July 1, 2012: The Geneva School of Diplomacy and International Relations (GSD) celebrated its Annual Graduation Ceremony on the campus set within the beautiful gardens of the Domaine de Penthes amidst jubilation and cheer. Students graduated from the Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (BAIR), the Master in International Relations (MIR), and the Doctorate of International Relations (DIR) Programmes.
The 26 participating graduates of 2012 originate from 21 different countries such as Azerbaijan, Brazil, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, India, Iran, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, UK, USA.
The Graduation ceremony was one of enthusiasm and joy. Dr. Colum Murphy, President of GSD, congratulated the Class of 2012 on successfully completing their respective programmes and said, “You have gained new knowledge, learnt important lessons for life, made lasting friends, and collected memories that will be with you for the rest of your lives.”
On behalf of the GSD student body, Student Ambassador President Sarah Elizabeth Thomas gave an eloquent speech focusing on the future of her colleagues saying, “Individually, we represent the most dynamic histories to ever commence. We are the children who have emerged from Post Communist regimes, dictatorships, rival nationalities, subjected cultures, radically opposite ideologies. Yet, we have congregated together to continue global improvement, while sharing academic fellowship. My fellow colleagues, it has been an honor and pleasure. Let us not forget this time – for now is the time for action.”
The Geneva School of Diplomacy wishes to congratulate all graduates of 2012 and is proud to call you Alumni!
